Our Craft

Patience, grain, and a sharp blade.

Tuckahoe Hardwoods began with a question: what if a baseball cap could outlive its wearer? The answer arrived in the form of a single mahogany slab and a stubborn refusal to compromise.

Artisan at work

The world's first mahogany cap.

It took thirty-seven prototypes. We carved, steamed, and re-carved until the brim curved with the same easy authority as a well-worn favorite. We finish the mahogany with a water base environmentally friendly finish, and engrave the hat with your design.

Boards built to gather around.

Our live edge grazing boards begin as kiln dried slabs of East Indian Walnut. We let the grain decide the shape — every board is one of one. Pair them with our gift sets to send a feast worth photographing.

Personalization, made meaningful.

Initials, dates, coordinates, a passage of poetry — anything you can dream, we can engrave. Add a personalization note at checkout, and we'll be in touch to confirm your details.
